THE LMA STORY

Cheryl Lewis began teaching piano out of her home in 1980 and quickly realized her gift for music and passion for teaching children.

She found that her students loved learning piano in group classes with other kids, making the lessons more fun and exciting, and it wasn’t long before she began creating her own piano books to teach both of her sons to love and enjoy playing music.

Her sons Jason and Jayme joined the LMA staff in 2003, along with her husband Mark, and 5 decades later they still continue to teach thousands of children to love music at Lewis Music Academy Inc.

"CLASH OF THE COVER BANDS" SEASON 1 WINNER

 

In December 2021, Cheryl's two sons Jason (guitar) and Jayme Lewis (bass) won the title of ULTIMATE COVER BAND while performing with Dolly Parton tribute-artist Karen Hester on the E! Television series Clash of the Cover Bands starring Adam Lambert, Meghan Trainor and Ester Dean.

As part of the 1st place prize, they also went on to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

LMA Online is the easiest way to get started and is perfect for Zoomers! Move at your own pace with video lessons and you still get direct feedback from LMA instructors!

Come to our studio and take lessons in-person! We'll match your child with other students of similar age/ability for group classes. Private lessons also available.
