Cheryl LewisCheryl Lewis (Mrs. Lewis to the thousands of students she taught music to in the Moorpark Unified School District) began playing piano and various keyboard instruments at the age of 4. She considers herself blessed to have been born into a musical family. Her parents, sisters, and brother (and now sons and nephews) are all talented musicians and music teachers as well. Cheryl grew up in a musical home, listening to and playing music all day long.

Mrs. Lewis completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music in 1984 from California State University of Northridge and immediately began graduate study on a Master’s Degree in Music Theory. She has been busy teaching piano and voice since 1976.

After her 2 sons were born, Cheryl began what she considers to be her greatest achievement: teaching her own children to love and enjoy music. In fact, Cheryl wrote  the Lewis Music Method Piano books  to teach her own sons to love music. 23 years later, both of her sons have graduated with Music degrees from CSUN and now are full time music teachers alongside Cheryl at the Lewis Music Academy. These days you can find all of the Lewis’ dedicating their musical talents to their various church homes as worship leaders, musical directors, and choir directors.
