Carissa Gibson has had a great love for the violin from an early age and began playing violin at age 10. She then started performing with various youth orchestras. She has had the opportunity to play at Disney Hall with the Idyllwild Symphony, at the Hollywood Bowl as an extra in a movie, at Decanso Gardens with the Pasadena Pops, at Camarillo Park which included soloing with the Moorpark Symphony and has played with many other orchestras. She started her music degree at Moorpark College and received the prestigious Abulafia Family Scholarship. While attending Moorpark College she struck up a friendship with the Lewis family and has spent many hours playing music together with them. Carissa now performs with the Golden State pops, in churches and other venues around Southern California including professional studio gigs and wants to share her knowledge of and passion for music and performance with children at the Lewis Music Academy. Carissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in music from the Bob Cole Conservatory of music at Cal State Long Beach, along with a Masters Degree and she is currently working on her Doctorate.
